Abstract
I abstract and distill the images I paint. The viewer will see an impression; a noticeable landscape or floral. My paintings contain elements of nature such as trees, clouds, waterfalls, and flowers. A flowing, moving energy is evident in the images. The compositional lines are energetic and jumpy. A breathing organic feeling exists in these images that invite you in to wander and soak in a range of emotions and moods.
Colorist
Bursting with color is one way of seeing the world. Color that’s active and quirky, bold, and demure. All of these adjectives are descriptors of what the paintings are saying to the viewer; that’s you. Through color you enter a world of emotions, intellectual stimulation, dreamscape and corporal worlds. The idea is for the color to sing you awake and into the world; to enjoy beauty and delight in being alive.
Painter
Paint marks and fingerprints may be seen in these paintings. The use of many tools and layers of resins, pastes, and glazes creates depth. Layers are added and subtracted in a sort of peek a boo game to get the finished composition. The initial layers create a hide and seek of textures and patterns where anything is possible until definite choices are made to finish the piece.
